December 14, 2013 by Rothesia Stokes

Radiant Orchid

Emerald green was the color for 2013, but its time has come to an end. There is a new hue in town and it has arrived with supreme radiance. Pantone recently announced Radiant Orchid as the 2014 Color of the Year. Radiant Orchid comes from the purple family and is sure to have major influence on industries of fashion, beauty, and interior design.

Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute, described the color as an enchanting harmony of fuchsia, purple and pink undertones. Eisman stated that the color “inspires confidence and emanates great joy, love and health.”

After Pantone’s announcement, MAC quickly relaunched their lipstick, Heroine, which is a bold and bright purple lipstick. Radiant Orchid is a gorgeous color and gives you the opportunity to add some brightness and boldness to your wardrobe.
